Many legal disputes are resolved by agreement of the parties. MLPA is prepared to represent their clients in negotiations to obtain a full and fair settlement of their legal claims. Sometimes, however, that is not possible. In those cases, clients can trust that Attorney Parker will take their matter to Court and represent them through the judicial process.
For those clients who prefer to work on resolving their conflicts outside of a courtroom, Mrs. Parker is pleased to offer legal services as an attorney trained and certified in the area of Collaborative Divorce Practice.
Collaborative Practice is a dispute resolution model in which the parties and their representatives enter into a contract - often called a Participation Agreement - under the terms of which, all involved make a commitment to settle the dispute without resort to litigation. In order to assure that the parties remain committed to the collaborative process, should they prove to be unable or unwilling to agree to a final settlement or, if for other reasons, adversarial court proceedings are required, the attorneys for both parties withdraw from the case, and the parties retain new attorneys to represent them for a final resolution.
Many family law professionals see Collaborative Practice as the future of divorce law. They cite increased client satisfaction as well as the personal fulfillment that comes from the use of their skills to analyze and creatively solve problems in order to achieve a fair settlement.
