MLPA founder/lawyerMary Louise Parker, Esquire concentrates her practice in the areas of civil litigation, including personal injury, and family law, business formation and real estate.

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Parker earned her Juris Doctor from the Temple University School of Law. She served as law clerk for the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas with Judge Linda Wallach Miller and worked as an associate and partner with several well-respected Stroudsburg law firms before establishing the firm of Mary Louise Parker, Esquire & Associates. Alison Wasserman, Esquire joined the firm in 2009. Attorney Parker is admitted to practice before all Courts of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania’s Appellate Courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. She has served as a Monroe County Child Custody Conciliator since February 2005.

Mrs. Parker is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association having served as an officer and member of the Board of Trustees from 1993-2004 and it’s President in the years 2002 and 2003. Through efforts with other members of the Bar Association, Mrs. Parker was instrumental in setting up a lawyer referral service in 1999, which assists Monroe County residents in obtaining legal representation and counsel. More recently, she helped to form the Monroe County Bar Foundation, a 501(3) C corporation which serves as the charitable giving arm of the Bar Association and directs its fundraising toward projects and activities designed to improve the lives of Monroe County children. Mrs. Parker is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and its Commission on Women in the Profession.

In addition to her Bar Association activities, Mrs. Parker has devoted considerable time to community service. She served on the County Commission for Library Planning Services and has been both a member and President of the Monroe County Library Board of Trustees. Mrs. Parker has also been a member of the Stroudsburg Planning Commission, Stroudsburg Zoning Hearing Board and the Monroe County Easter Seals Board of Directors. She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Women’s Resources of Monroe County and the Pocono Arts Council as its President.

Mrs. Parker is married to John H. Parker, Jr. and has two sons, Adam and Josh. She and the members of her family belong to St Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in Stroudsburg. She and John reside in Sciota, Pennsylvania.

Alison Paige Wasserman, Esquire recently joined the law firm and will practice in the areas of general civil litigation and family law.

A Buchanan Scholar at Franklin & Marshall College, Ms. Wasserman earned her Juris Doctor at the Pennsylvania State University-Dickinson School of Law. During law school, Ms. Wasserman spent two summers clerking for the Felony Trial Division of the Office of the Public Defender for Baltimore City and one summer interning for the Honorable Kim R. Gibson of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the firm of Mary Louise Parker and Associates, Ms. Wasserman served the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas as a law clerk to the Honorable Margherita Patti Worthington. Attorney Wasserman is admitted to practice before all courts of original and appellate jurisdiction in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Ms. Wasserman is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division of the Monroe County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

A Baltimore native, Ms. Wasserman now resides in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing sports, and spending time with her family and their two adorable dogs.
